**Applications Engineer (Battery Gauges)**: Support sales & customers designing TI's Battery Gauges. Key responsibilities include: pre/post-sales support, creating tools/docs to accelerate development, optimizing Battery Gauge configuration using C algorithm understanding and data analysis. Requires Electrical Engineering degree and 2 years' relevant experience.

Battery Gauges Applications Engineer
Applications engineers for Battery Gauges provide expertise to best support our sales team and customers in designing TI Battery Gauges into their products.
Applications engineers will partner with Systems and Marketing teams to deliver collateral, supporting documentation, tools and/or software that accelerate customers' development time and drive design WINs.

Applications engineers provide pre- and post-sales support to our customers through direct contact (WebEx calls, email, occasional on-site support), JIRA, E2E forums and by partnering with Sales teams.

Battery Gauges run a complex algorithm. Applications engineers for Battery Gauges must be able to understand deep details of this algorithm which requires being comfortable studying a large code base written in C and analyzing large data sets from customer tests and TI tests. One major responsibility is optimizing the configuration of Battery Gauges for a specific system using lessons learned from applying the algorithm to large data sets.

At times, they may also assist customer quality engineers when evaluating customer returns by recreating issues on the bench, setting up the device in the FA lab for probe and debug, or developing a test improvement plan.

Minimum requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, ECE, or related field
  • 2 years of relevant experience

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in applications support of mixed signal products
  • Ability to understand complex firmware written in C for resource constrained embedded systems
  • Hands-on experience with Python and C
  • Solid hardware and software debugging skills
  • Strong technical background, with the ability to produce high quality technical documentation
  • Experience with battery management
  • Ability to learn technical details from an existing code base without relying on collateral only
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work in teams and collaborate effectively with people in different functions
  • Strong time management skills that enable on-time project delivery
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment
  • Ability to take the initiative and drive for results
