Core Responsibilities

  • Lead architecture and design of GPU SDK components focused on data analysis, frame timing, and latency optimization
  • Drive technical direction for frame pacing technologies, input latency reduction, and presentation optimization
  • Expert implementation and optimization of DXGI Swapchain for various display configurations and timing requirements
  • Deep analysis of frame timing data, identifying bottlenecks and optimization opportunities across the graphics pipeline
  • Design and implement comprehensive telemetry and profiling solutions for latency measurement
  • Mentor engineering team on performance analysis methodologies and timing-critical optimization techniques
  • Strategic partnership with hardware architects, display technology teams, and game developers on frame timing and latency solutions
  • Architect scalable API interfaces for frame pacing and latency measurement tools
  • Define validation frameworks and quality standards for timing-critical SDK features

Required Technology Skills

  • Expert HLSL and Direct3D 12
  • Expert DXGI Swapchain implementation, configuration, and optimization
  • Deep understanding of GPU pipeline timing and synchronization
  • Advanced data analysis and statistical methods for performance characterization
  • Frame timing analysis and presentation optimization techniques
  • Input latency measurement and optimization
  • Game engine architecture and integration (Unreal Engine, Unity, or proprietary engines)
  • Experience in game development or real-time rendering applications
  • GPU profiling and performance analysis tools
  • Expert parallel algorithms and optimization patterns
  • Strong understanding of display technologies and refresh rate handling
  • Proven SDK/API architecture and delivery
  • Expert C++ (C++17/20) with modern design patterns

Nice-to-Have Background

  • Windows Compositor and DWM interaction
  • Variable refresh rate technologies (VRR, FreeSync, G-Sync)
  • HDR and advanced display features
  • Shader compilation pipelines and IRs (DXIL, SPIR-V)
  • ML frameworks for performance prediction and analysis
  • Validation frameworks and automated testing
  • Deep GPU hardware architecture knowledge (AMD RDNA, NVIDIA, Intel)
  • OS-level graphics subsystem knowledge
  • Vulkan present modes and timing extensions
  • Real-time systems and scheduling
  • AAA game development experience
  • Cross-platform development expertise
  • Advanced statistical analysis and data visualization tools
