Your success involves migrating legacy analytics tools to a modern, **Databricks**-based self-service ecosystem, working collaboratively with Tableau and Alteryx engineers to ensure a governed, scalable, and valuable platform.

Our team owns and enables AI and BI self-service platforms across the organisation, including Tableau, Alteryx and Databricks. This year, we are accelerating our use of Databricks as a core platform for analytics, data engineering and AI/BI self-service.

We are looking for a practical Data Platform Engineer to help support, modernise and improve our self-service analytics platforms. This role combines data engineering, platform engineering, automation, user enablement and technical problem-solving.

You may be well suited to this role if you are resourceful, curious, and proactive. You enjoy identifying problems, investigating root causes, finding a path forward and helping deliver solutions.

What success looks like

Success means helping our organisation move confidently from legacy analytics tooling to a modern Databricks-based self-service ecosystem. You will help make Databricks approachable, governed, scalable and valuable while working closely with Tableau and Alteryx platform engineers. The right person will not only maintain platforms but also help improve them.

 

You will:

  • Support and enhance the Databricks, Tableau and Alteryx platforms 
  • Develop and maintain automation scripts, integrations, data pipelines and operational tooling using SQL, Python, Spark and related technologies 

  • Help users adopt Databricks capabilities, including Genie, Genie Spaces, notebooks, workflows/jobs, SQL warehouses, clusters and shared platform assets 

  • Create reusable templates, documentation, best practices and enablement materials 

  • Troubleshoot issues related to data, code, access, permissions, platform configuration, performance and user workflows 

  • Provide user support, training, documentation and hands-on technical guidance

 

About you:

  • 3+ years of experience as a data engineer, software engineer, analytics engineer, platform engineer or in a similar role
  • Programming experience with Python, PySpark or another modern programming language
  • Experience with Databricks capabilities such as notebooks, workflows/jobs, SQL warehouses, Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, Genie or Genie Spaces
  • Experience building, supporting, automating or improving data platforms, analytics workflows, reporting environments or internal tools
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to investigate ambiguous problems independently
  • Clear communication skills with both technical and non-technical users
  • Experience with Tableau platform administration or Alteryx workflow development and management would be beneficial
  • Upper-intermediate English skills

Monthly salary range will be from is from 3680 EUR to 5520 EUR gross (depending on your skills relevant to the job).
