**Senior Data Scientist - Lending Fraud Strategy** As our **Senior Data Scientist - Lending Fraud Strategy**, you'll drive data-driven fraud prevention in Danske Bank's Vilnius hub. Location: Vilnius, Lithuania

Use advanced analytics to protect customers and the bank from lending fraud. In this senior role, you will shape data-driven prevention strategies, strengthen critical controls, and turn complex data into scalable solutions.

You will join Lending Fraud Strategy within Fraud Risk Management, part of Danske Bank’s first line of defence against financial crime. Working internationally, you will collaborate across fraud prevention, business, risk, and technology to improve how lending fraud is identified and prevented.

We are looking for an accomplished Senior Data Scientist who combines technical depth with commercial judgement, takes ownership, and communicates clearly across functions. You will have the freedom to shape solutions, supported by a collaborative team that values openness and knowledge sharing.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Shape the strategic development of Danske Bank’s lending fraud prevention capabilities, using data to identify emerging risks and opportunities.
  • Lead analytical work from data extraction and transformation to interpretation, insight generation, and clear recommendations.
  • Develop and optimise data-driven approaches to lending fraud screening and prevention in partnership with business and technology stakeholders.
  • Translate evolving risk exposure, data insights, and business needs into well-defined initiatives, requirements, and process changes.
  • Drive prioritisation and implementation with stakeholders, ensuring solutions deliver their intended impact.
  • Act as a trusted adviser on risk-mitigating controls and communicate complex technical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences.

About you:

  • You bring solid experience from data science, advanced analytics, or a comparable role, together with strong Python and SQL skills.
  • You have a higher education degree in a quantitative discipline such as economics, mathematics, physics, engineering, or statistics.
  • You are skilled at turning complex analysis into practical recommendations and engaging both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • You work in a structured, detail-oriented, and self-driven way while contributing positively to a collaborative team.
  • You are fluent in spoken and written English.
  • Experience in financial crime prevention or financial services, familiarity with Alteryx, Power Apps, or Tableau, and experience developing or operationalising AI and machine learning solutions would be an advantage.

You do not need to meet every criterion to apply - while technical skills are important, we equally value curiosity, a willingness to learn, and the ability to thrive as part of the team.

What we offer:

The role can be based in Poland or Lithuania and offers the opportunity to build a strategically important capability in an international environment. For Lithuania, the monthly salary range is EUR 3,600 - 5,400 EUR gross, depending on the competencies and experience relevant to the role. The position title in the employment contract will be Data Science.
