Amazon’s Selection Monitoring team is responsible for making the biggest catalog on the planet even bigger. Our systems process billions of products to algorithmically find products not already sold on Amazon and programmatically add them to the Amazon catalog. We apply distributed processing, machine learning and LLMs to identify and prioritize products and brands we should add to Amazon’s catalog. Teams across Amazon worldwide consume our datasets and systems to improve: product information, search and discoverability, pricing, and delivery experience. We are looking for a Software Development Engineer (SDE) to tackle difficult problems in the areas of distributed systems, efficient large-scale data processing, data dependency and flow control systems, flexible and serverless compute with impact across Amazon. This is a tremendous opportunity for SDEs who want to build reliable and scalable solutions to enhance selection for our customers.

Key job responsibilities
Partner with Principal Engineers, Sr.SDEs, and Product and Applied Scientists to define build systems for Selection Monitoring’s mission-critical systems driving the brand and product experience on Amazon.
Deliver and own scalable, fault-tolerant, and highly available services that underpin our large-scale data processing solutions.
Develop solutions to efficiently deploy and orchestrate hundreds of application flows across a hybrid set of compute environments.
Build solutions using LLMs and ML models.
Drive operational excellence initiative and continuously improve quality bar for software delivered by the team.

Basic Qualifications

- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience
- 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using: C#, C++, Java, or Perl experience
- 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience
- Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Preferred Qualifications

- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
