The Opportunity

We are currently seeking an Asset Maintenance Manager to join our Glencore Sudbury Integrated Nickel Operations.

This is a full-time, permanent, staff position.

This position is being posted to fill an existing vacancy.

Work location is not accessible by public transportation.

Applications will be reviewed on an ongoing basis. We encourage early applications. 

Duties and Accountabilities: 

Reporting to the Director of the Smelter, the Asset Maintenance Manager leads the maintenance, reliability, and engineering functions and is responsible for the development, implementation, and management of all maintenance systems and associated procedures that ensure maintenance teams safely deliver high-quality, cost-effective, and reliable asset performance in support of the long-term delivery of business objectives, including shutdown management.

The successful candidate will foster a culture of safety, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Working closely with operations, they will ensure maintenance activities are effectively planned and executed to maximize equipment reliability, optimize asset performance, and support production goals.

This is a leadership role that requires a strong presence in the field, providing guidance, coaching, and support to maintenance teams while building strong partnerships across the operation. This role will also lead maintenance readiness for planned shutdowns, respond to critical equipment issues when required, and help drive improvements that enhance reliability, efficiency, and overall operational performance.

Education and Skills

The ideal candidate is an experienced tradesperson or Engineer (Mechanical or Electrical) with a strong knowledge of Maintenance Work Management processes and 

systems, combined with experience in the design and successful implementation of these systems. They must possess a thorough working knowledge of the SAP Plant Maintenance Module (including Asset Management, Procurement, and related functions), and extensive experience in contractor management. A minimum of 10 years of demonstrated maintenance or asset management leadership experience in a similar role within a complex smelting, metallurgical, or processing operation is required.
