**Assistant Vice President, Investment Services - HSBC Life** - Lead investment strategies, drive business growth, and enhance client services within HSBC's Life division in Singapore. - Manage a team, fostering innovation and continuous improvement in a high-performing, dynamic environment. - Key responsibilities include investment analysis, risk management, and stakeholder engagement. - Proven 7+ years of experience in investment services or related roles, with at least 5 years in management. - Essential skills: robust investment knowledge, proven leadership, analytical mindset, strong stakeholder management, and proficiency in relevant software tools (e.g., Bloomberg, FactSet). - Experience with life insurance, pension schemes, or investment funds is a plus. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams and contribute to HSBC's global strategy. - Sophisticated understanding of investment products and financial markets. - Strong academic credentials with a relevant degree (e.g., MBA, CFA) preferred but not required.
We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as an Assistant Vice President, Investment Services.
In this role you will:
- Execute full lifecycle of ILP transactions but not limited to trade order placements, settlements, NAV valuations and reconciliations
- Ensure compliance with the investment mandate and other regulations, and the adoption and implementation of internal controls that are in line with HSBC standards
- Review and enhance workflow processes undertaken in Investment Services to improve efficiency and mitigate risks of errors
- Prepare and review portfolio account opening, fund manager transition and new fund manager onboarding
- Support ILP funds' creation or closure, funds' switch, business as-usual initiatives, UAT and senior stakeholders' requests
- Maintain and develop strong relationships with key stakeholders including the CIO, Investment team, product fund team, external fund managers, and other affiliated companies such as HSBC Securities Services and HSBC Asset Management
- Front and liaise with auditors on Investment Services related and reporting matters and ensure timely response and closure
To be successful you will need:
- Strong experience in investment operations and accounting functions, preferably within the insurance industry
- Educational qualification: University graduate. Additional professional qualifications such as Chartered Financial Analyst will be viewed favorably
- Strong knowledge in local regulations such as MAS Notice 307 and Securities and Futures Act
- Strong understanding of investment instruments such as equities, fixed income, alternative investments and derivatives
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
