The Associate Corporate Counsel will be responsible for providing legal support to operations of our last mile delivery network, gig workforce programs, and other innovative business launches. In addition, this role will serve as the AI stimulator and program manager for the India Operations Legal team – driving adoption of AI tools, streamlining legal workflows, and managing cross-functional programs that enhance team efficiency and delivery.


Key job responsibilities
You will serve as a lawyer responsible for counseling the business on a broad range of labour and employment, gig economy, transportation, compliance, and regulatory matters. You will:
- Structure, draft and negotiate commercial transactions and provide day-to-day operational legal support.
- Provide legal guidance on gig workforce regulations, platform-based work models, and evolving state and central labour law frameworks for our Flex, Hub and Quick Commerce verticals.
- Support compliance strategy for last mile operations including driver engagement models, enforcement programs, EV adoption and various other modes of transport.
- Build in-depth knowledge of the Code on Social Security, and state-specific gig/platform worker legislations, you will lead the advocacy efforts and compliance frameworks under the laws.
- Handle contingencies and escalations requiring immediate legal support, including regulatory interactions, law enforcement matters, and crisis response for North and East regions.
- Serve as the AI stimulator for the Ops Legal team – identifying opportunities to leverage AI/ML tools in legal workflows, driving experimentation, and championing adoption of technology solutions that improve speed and quality of legal output.

A day in the life
You will work directly with the business, serving as their counsel on operational matters, providing day-to-day advice, resolving issues in existing relationships, and dealing with diverse stakeholders including tax, finance, public relations, labour & employment, litigation, public policy, and technology teams. You will also dedicate time to driving AI adoption initiatives and program management for the Ops Legal team – ensuring the team operates efficiently, meets deadlines, and continuously improves its ways of working.

About the team
This position is based out of our corporate office in Bangalore and reports to the Senior Manager – Legal, India Operations. This is an individual contributor role. The role gives you an opportunity to join a collaborative, tight-knit team that is pioneering exciting initiatives as part of a business that is making history. Some travel, domestic and international, will be required.

Basic Qualifications

- 5+ years of post bar admission legal experience
- Can use AI for legal research, contract analysis, or document review experience
- Experience working proactively and independently, meeting deadlines, and delivering on projects and tasks
- Must be proactive, enthusiastic, enjoy working hard and being challenged, and demonstrate sound judgment even in ambiguous situations.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience in transportation operations and industry knowledge
- Experience in program or project management
- Experience managing multiple projects and priorities across teams in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Experience analyzing and reviewing statutes, regulations, and case law and then extracting data to make appropriate recommendations
- Experience in advising on gig/platform economy legal models, independent contractor vs. employee classification issues.
