Job Description:

The Category Strategy Support Lead plays a key role in developing and communicating category strategies that align with business goals, value creation, risk mitigation, and supply chain optimization.

Working Hours: This role operates on a shift basis and requires flexibility.

Candidates must be flexible to work either:

  • Shift A (ASPAC/EU): 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM MYT, or

  • Shift B (ASPAC/US): 5:00 PM – 2:00 AM MYT.

Key Accountabilities

  • Partner with Category Managers, team members, and suppliers to develop and implement category strategies.

  • Support category planning through market analysis, demand planning, and organizational change.

  • Develop presentations, reports, and communications to drive stakeholder alignment and decision-making.

  • Handle tactical categories and support end-to-end category delivery and value creation.

  • Monitor category performance, KPIs, and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Standardize category processes, templates, and sourcing practices.

  • Identify efficiency, cost optimization, and value creation opportunities.

  • Lead supplier performance through reviews, improvement plans, and risk assessments.

  • Build strong supplier relationships and ensure contract and service compliance.

  • Collaborate with business, finance, legal, and procurement teams to resolve supplier issues.

  • Support contract management, dispute resolution, and supplier risk mitigation.

  • Maintain and optimize SAP Ariba buying channels, catalogs, and category content.

  • Ensure procurement compliance through effective controls, monitoring, and risk management.

Essential Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Procurement, Business, or equivalent experience.

  • 6–8 years demonstrated ability in Indirect Procurement.

  • Experience working in a global, multicultural environment.

  • Strong communication, stakeholder management, and influencing skills.

  • Develop and implement category and sourcing strategies aligned with business objectives.

  • Use market intelligence and spend analysis to identify value creation and cost optimization opportunities.
