Description -

What a College Intern - New Product Introduction Engineering (NPI Mechanical/Mechatronics) does at HP:

  • You will work closely with the NPI Principal Technologist and engineering teams
  • Develop and test product and tooling concepts through rapid prototyping
  • Solve manufacturing, process, automation, and product-related problems
  • Design and modify fixtures, jigs, and tooling
  • Support experiments, characterization studies, and NPI builds
  • Assist with data analysis, SPC, gage R&R, and engineering investigations
  • Collaborate across multiple engineering disciplines to introduce new technologies into production

Technical Skills Being Developed:

  • Product Design

  • Failure Analysis & Root Cause Investigation
  • Statistical Process Control (SPC)
  • Experimental Design and Testing

  • Current Bachelor or Master undergraduates in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering
  • Able to commit for a 5-6 months full-time internship, starting in January 2027
  • 3D CAD
  • FEA (Finite Element Analysis)
  • CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) Modelling
  • Mechanism Design
  • Machine Vision Systems
  • Robotics
  • Programming
  • Strong engineering fundamentals
  • Hands-on problem-solving ability
