Description -

What a College Intern - Procurement Engineering does at HP:

  • You’ll be a member of the Display Procurement team.
  • Responsible for both engineering and business activities of the Display panels.
  • Evaluate supplier capabilities to ensure production output can meet HP demand and work with HP business teams on business continuity plans (i.e. multiple sourcing, geographic diversity).
  • Evaluate supplier product designs, processes, and activities for compliance with HP manufacturing guidelines, quality processes and standards using Lean Sigma processes.
  • Drive innovation, partner with R&D to support NPI, develop Display panel roadmap and work with the global team on Pan-HP Leverage.
  • Communicate and resolve supplier-related production problems as they occur.
  • Drive supplier improvement using comprehensive Failure Analysis and corrective actions plans.
  • Drive cost reductions through negotiations, inventive quality initiatives employing supplier technology.
  • Set HP quality objectives and audit suppliers as appropriate to ensure data-based compliance.
  • Assumes a quality-driven approach by establishing metrics for component production quality, conducting regular supplier quality reviews to uphold the highest standards.
  • Develops understanding of and relationship with outside suppliers and internal product development and manufacturing teams.
  • Offers key assistance in identifying suitable potential suppliers aligned with business objectives, embodying a commitment to continuous improvement and fostering a strategic approach to supplier engagement.
  • Supports the escalations stemming from part, supplier, or client issues, offering timely resolutions and mitigations.
  • Works with suppliers to implement specified changes to product or process to reduce defects, improve quality, and lower costs.
  • Drives internal system and process enhancements, aiming to enhance overall supplier performance across diverse categories.

Individuals who do well in this role at HP, usually possess:

  • Undergraduate in Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Able to commit to a 5–6-month full time internship, starting in January 2027. Part-time arrangements may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
  • Skills: Effective Communication, Results Orientation, Learning Agility, Digital Fluency.
