**AWS seeks experienced Corporate Counsel** to drive trust and safety at its core, focusing on abuse reports. Liaise with cross-functional teams like Trust & Safety, Support, and Legal to **develop policies** and address **escalations**. **Launch new services**, including **AI** tools, ensuring **compliance** with industry best practices and global digital services regulations. **Identify and mitigate legal risks**. Collaborate with a diverse legal team covering various business organizations. **Senior-level** candidates with **Global Digital Services** background preferred.
Key job responsibilities
- Manage trust and safety issues such as policy development and case escalations
- Support the launch of new products aligned with trust and safety best practices
- Identify legal risks and propose mitigation strategies
A day in the life
In a typical day, you may lead or attend meetings with your business partners to provide legal counsel on case escalations, policy development or customer engagement. You may also provide guidance to the broader AWS Products legal team on trust and safety issues related to new product launches.
About the team
You will join a diverse legal team that covers a broad range of business organizations including Customer Support, Trust & Safety, and Training & Certifications. We work closely with business stakeholders from across multiple functions. You’ll be part of a collaborative legal team that values proactive partnership, creative problem-solving, and continuous improvement.
Basic Qualifications
- 5+ years of post bar admission legal experience- Juris Doctor and membership in one state bar or equivalent
- Experience handling ambiguous or undefined challenges through strong problem solving abilities
- Experience managing multiple projects and meeting aggressive deadlines
- Experience in written and oral communication, including the ability to communicate with all levels in the organization (technical, business, executive)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in Privacy Law- Experience in private practice or in house experience at a technology company or equivalent
- Experience with AI/ML technologies
- Experience working with Trust & Safety organizations
- Experience working with Security organizations
- Experience advising on regulatory compliance, including interpretation and practical application of legislation and regulations

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
