You Are:
You are a strategic, business-minded government affairs leader with deep experience navigating China’s policy, regulatory, and stakeholder landscape. You bring strong judgment, cultural fluency, and a practical understanding of how public policy developments affect global technology companies operating in China. You are comfortable advising senior executives, building trusted relationships with policymakers and industry partners, and translating complex policy developments into clear business implications.
You have a proven track record working on technology, trade, industrial policy, digital policy, standards, market access, intellectual property, or related issues in China. You understand how to operate in a complex, fast-moving environment while maintaining the highest standards of integrity, compliance, and professionalism. You are collaborative, proactive, and able to align government engagement with business priorities across functions and geographies. Execute Strategy in Support of Business Goals:
- Develop and execute government affairs strategies in China that advance Synopsys’ business priorities and support responsible growth.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on China policy, regulatory, and stakeholder developments affecting the semiconductor, software, AI, and broader technology sectors.
- Build and maintain constructive relationships with relevant national and local government stakeholders, industry associations, and business organizations.
- Monitor, analyze, and communicate developments in China policy areas including technology regulation, trade, industrial policy, standards, intellectual property, data governance, market access, and innovation policy.
- Prepare executive briefing materials, talking points, policy analysis, and engagement plans for internal and external stakeholders.
- Represent the company in policy discussions, industry forums, and stakeholder engagements, communicating Synopsys’ role in enabling innovation across the semiconductor ecosystem.
- Partner closely with legal, compliance, business, communications, and global government affairs colleagues to ensure coordinated and consistent engagement.
- Coordinate with trade associations, coalitions, and external advisors to advance shared objectives aligned with company priorities.

- Contribute to a global government affairs team that provides strategic insight and practical support across key markets.
Ideal Experience:
- Significant experience in government affairs, public policy, regulatory affairs, diplomacy, trade association leadership, or related roles in China.
- Demonstrated understanding of China’s policy and regulatory environment as it relates to technology, semiconductors, software, AI, trade, standards, intellectual property, market access, or digital policy.
- Established relationships with relevant government, industry, and policy stakeholders in China.
- Experience advising senior executives and cross-functional business teams on policy developments, stakeholder engagement, and strategic positioning.
- Ability to operate effectively in both local and global contexts, bridging China-based priorities with multinational corporate strategy.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Mandarin Chinese and English.
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree in law, public policy, international relations, business, economics, or a related field preferred.

The Team You’ll Be A Part Of:
You will join Synopsys’ global Government Affairs organization, working closely with business, legal, compliance, communications, and regional teams in China and around the world. The team is responsible for helping Synopsys engage constructively with policymakers, anticipate policy and regulatory developments, and align external engagement with business priorities. Together, you will support Synopsys’ role as a trusted leader in chip design, IP, and simulation and analysis technologies that enable innovation across the global semiconductor ecosystem.
