Role Summary
Sitting within the Winterflood Investment Trust Research team, the role holder will conduct in-depth investment trust research and analysis to deliver actionable insights for clients and stakeholders, while supporting development of the team’s strategy, maintaining key client relationships, and contributing to business growth and corporate opportunities.
This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with considerable experience of the sector to continue their career at an established firm with one of the largest dedicated investment trust teams in the industry, offering market making, sales, research and corporate services
Responsibilities
- Attend meetings with investment trust managers and conduct independent analysis to produce research notes on investment trusts for clients
- Summarise daily sector news flow, providing analysis and views where relevant, for our client Daily Briefing email and internal stakeholders
- Represent Winterflood Research at conferences and in media appearances
- Assist the Head of Investment Trust Research in development of research strategy
- Maintain and update data systems where necessary
- Build and maintain client relationships, and promote Marex product and service offerings where appropriate

Skills and Experience:
- Substantial experience working in and knowledge of the investment trust product area, ideally within PE and/or Debt sectors
- Proactive mindset in keeping up to date with market developments and incorporating into role efficiently
- Analytical skills, identifying opportunities and risks in a decisive manner
- Comprehensive knowledge of the financial service markets and relevant regulatory requirements
- Experience of undertaking comprehensive investment trust analysis and producing written research reports for clients
- Experience of the infrastructural support required to efficiently support investment trust business lines
- Experience working in a regulated environment and knowledge of the risk and compliance requirements associated with this
- Knowledge of the underlying products at Marex within the investment trust remit
