Laboratory Technician | McArthur River Mine | Northern Territory

At MRM, we’re looking for a Laboratory Technician to join our team. You will work in a multidisciplinary team environment sharing knowledge, skills and experience. This role supports our operations by providing specialised process chemistry and mineral analytical services to our Mining, Metallurgy, Environment and Projects & Water departments.

Reporting to the Laboratory Supervisor, key responsibilities may include:

  • Following laboratory standards and procedures.
  • Daily sample preparation of ores and concentrates.
  • Sample collection in the plant.
  • Acid digest of solid samples and wet chemical techniques.
  • Routine operation of laboratory equipment such as XRF, ICP-OES and benchtop analysers.
  • Actively support and adhere to our safety procedures and practices.
  • Data entry and quality control.
  • Making chemical standards and solutions.
  • Clean and maintain equipment and laboratory



Successful applicants for this role will ideally have:

  • Attention to detail.
  • Laboratory experience/exposure, particularly in minerals labs.
  • Good problem-solving skills.
  • Able to work alone or in groups in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong commitment to safety.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to perform physical work in hot and humid conditions.
