**Logistics Operations Support Specialist** for DRC, managing trucking and rail transport of copper and sulphur, ensuring efficiency and cost-effectiveness. Key responsibilities include planning, tracking, reporting, and solving operational issues with 8 LSPs, expected to double by year-end. Essential skills: Tertiary Degree, 5+ years in commodities trading, multimodal transport and warehouse operations know-how, strong logistics operations, detail-focused, strategic problem-solving, and stakeholder management.

This role is critical in converting monthly trade flow requirements into optimized, cost-effective transport plans that support LAI’s margin objectives. The successful candidate will be based in DRC

Responsibilities

  • Manage local trucking business in Kolwezi for Cu going to the warehouse for rail transport to Lobito, and sulphur going the other way
  • Currently at > 30,000 MT per month with 8 LSPs, and forecast to double by year end
  • Plan for uplift between LSPs and forecast and report the plan to the team and customers • Daily tracking and reporting showing progress
  • Identify any areas of shortfall and inform + propose solutions
  • Follow up with mines for loading plans and release of documents
  • Ensuring warehouse plans are aligned with Train plans

Experience and Qualifications

  • Tertiary Degree
  • 5+ years of experience in commodities trading or similar
  • fast-paced trading environment Knowledge of multimodal transport (road, rail,) Familiarity with in-transit warehouse operations
  • Strong Logistics Operations skill set.
