**Maintenance Engineer / Instandhaltungsingenieur:in** Support high-tech, specialty material production at our Berlin site. As a key team member, you'll maintain and troubleshoot advanced, unique equipment. Analyze failures, collaborate with stakeholders, manage maintenance tasks, and serve as a technical expert for a defined equipment portfolio. Requires experience in maintenance engineering, mechanical/electrical engineering, and a solid understanding of metrology equipment. Proficient in German and English.

Introduction to the job: At our Berlin site, our employees manufacture key components for ASML lithography systems. As part of our precision manufacturing team, you support the production of optical components, assemblies, and systems made of glass, glass-ceramics, and ceramics for our high-tech small-batch, single-part, and prototype production. Our Maintenance team brings together experts with different areas of specialization in mechanical and electrical engineering. Within our manufacturing environment, we support a diverse and continuously growing fleet of advanced production and metrology equipment. Working with demanding specialty materials makes this technical environment both highly varied and truly unique. To meet our high quality standards and delivery commitments, we rely on the strong performance and collaboration of the entire Maintenance team. We therefore invest significant time in your individual onboarding and offer a long-term career perspective. Role and responsibilities: As a Maintenance Engineer, you will: Analyze equipment failures and production disruptions and identify sustainable technical solutions Coordinate planned and unplanned maintenance activities with internal stakeholders and external service providers Review and accept completed maintenance work to ensure equipment functionality and quality standards Serve as the technical point of contact for a defined portfolio of production equipment Manage technical sourcing activities for spare parts and external maintenance services Develop and optimize preventive maintenance plans in collaboration with equipment suppliers and manufacturing teams Drive equipment and process improvement initiatives to increase machine availability, reliability, and performance Education and experience: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, or a comparable technical field Alternatively, completion of an advanced technical qualification in Electrical Engineering Several years of professional experience in maintenance engineering within a high-tech manufacturing environment Knowledge of complex production equipment, maintenance methodologies, and equipment reliability practices Experience working with external suppliers and service providers in a technical environment Professional English communication skills Skills: Working in a highly technical manufacturing environment requires a structured and solution-oriented approach. Success in this role depends on the ability to balance operational priorities, technical complexity, and collaboration across multiple stakeholders. To thrive in this position, the following skills are important: Demonstrates ownership when prioritizing and resolving equipment-related issues under time-sensitive conditions Applies analytical thinking to identify root causes and evaluate technical alternatives in complex situations Teamplayer, Collaborates effectively with specialists, production teams, and external partners to achieve common objectives Communicates technical information clearly to different audiences and stakeholders Adapts effectively to changing priorities, equipment demands, and operational requirements Maintains a hands-on and pragmatic approach while ensuring high quality standards
