About the role:  
Reporting to the Supervisor, Process Maintenance, the Pipefitter is responsible for installing and maintaining piping systems at our Greenhills Operation.
 
Schedule: This is a full-time hourly position that offers an attractive 4x4 straight day shift schedule. Come experience what work life balance is all about!
 
The position is site-based at our operations in the Elk Valley, and the ability to reliably commute to or relocate near Elkford, B.C is necessary. 

In this role you will:

  • Participate in and adhere to health and safety programs and policies 
  • Fabricate and install piping arrangements for slurry, water, and refuse lines ranging from 2" to 36"
  • Diagnose piping system failures in the processing facility 
  • Disassemble and reassemble system components 
  • Weld, cement, and thread joints to join pipes using soldering and welding equipment 
  • Maintain, create and record work order records
  • In certain components of this role, it is mandatory to wear a respirator which requires an interference free seal.

Requirements:

  • Valid Interprovincial Red Seal Pipefitter certification
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and project specifications
  • Small Water and Small Wastewater systems ticket would be an asset
  • Valid driver’s license 
  • Working knowledge of basic computer systems (Microsoft Office®) 
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and project specifications 
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team and to work cross functionally between trades
  • Experience in a mining environment is an asset
