Marex Metals is a top tier metals sales and trading business operating in base, precious and ferrous metals markets. A recent addition to the franchise has been Tangent which operates the recycled metals market and has net revenues of 12m USD.
Role Summary
Provide front-to-back sales support and operational coverage for the physical precious metals business, with a focus on gold and silver. The role supports execution, trade lifecycle management, and settlement across LBMA-cleared markets, with working knowledge of Shanghai Gold Exchange (SGE) and Hong Kong Gold Exchange operations.
Overall Responsibilities
- Support sales and trading in execution of physical precious metals transactions
- Manage the end-to-end trade lifecycle from execution to settlement and reconciliation
- Ensure accurate settlement under LBMA standards (e.g. loco London, HKG, Singapore )
- Support operational processes related to SGE and Hong Kong Gold Exchange trades
- Liaise with internal teams, counterparties, vaults, and service providers
- Identify, escalate, and resolve settlement or operational issues
- Adhere to internal controls, operational risk frameworks, and escalation procedures
- Act in accordance with SFC Code of Conduct and Marex Code of Conduct
- To escalate risk events immediately
- To provide input to risk management processes, as required.
- The Company may require you to carry out other duties from time to time

Skills and Experience
- Minimum 10 years’ industry experience
- Strong knowledge of both physical and derivatives markets across Precious Metals (Gold, Silver, Platinum, Palladium, Rhodium, Ruthenium, and Iridium)
- Experience trading SGE, SHFE, TOCOM, and other regional exchanges
- Well-networked across Asia, with experience working in a regulated environment
- The role would combine responsibilities across trading and business development, with a focus on building new client relationships and driving regional growth.
- Strong understanding of physical trade settlement processes, preferably LBMA-related
- Familiarity with Shanghai Gold Exchange and/or Hong Kong Gold Exchange operations
- Strong attention to detail, communication skills, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
