**Regulatory Reporting and Finance Control Manager** Ensure accurate, compliant financial reporting (IFRS, local regulations) for HSBC's local banks. Manage period-end close, control environment, and internal audit processes. Collaborate with external auditors, implement new accounting frameworks, and support regulatory reporting. Proven experience in accounting (IFRS), financial control, and regulatory compliance required. Experience in the banking sector and familiarity with regulatory environments a plus.

This function brings together distinct specialisms to drive greater connectivity in how we manage engagement with key stakeholders for HSBC.

Finance teams provide the bank with internal and external financial reporting, forecasting, controls oversight, and stress testing expertise. Specialist areas also manage HSBC’s worldwide tax affairs, group treasury needs, and events for investors and analysts.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • For our two local banks, prepare the local annual reports and quarterly accounts in compliance with IFRS, approved accounting policies and all local financial disclosure requirements.
  • Be responsible for the period-end close process including ensuring completeness and accuracy of all accounting journals.
  • Maintain a robust control environment over the financial reporting process and ensure data integrity and completeness.
  • Periodically review internal controls and exceptions and remediate as appropriate.
  • Liaise and assist external auditors as part of their statutory audit processes for our two local banks.
  • Manage the implementation of new accounting frameworks and regulatory change impacting the financial and regulatory reporting process in line with the HSBC Group and local requirements.
  • Provide support in the local regulatory reporting process as and when required.
  • Participate in ad-hoc strategic projects as required by the Chief Finance Officer.
  • Successfully complete Anti-Money Laundering and Sanctions training and post-course assessment, as required.

Role Requirements:

  • Possess a relevant professional accounting qualification (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), Associate Chartered Accountant (ACA) or equivalent.
  • Strong knowledge of the application of accounting standards in the banking sector.
  • Experience of working with banking finance systems and in dealing with outsourced processes.
  • Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to cope under pressure and to meet tight deadlines.
  • Ability to use technology as a tool to simplify and streamline processes.
