**Software Development Engineer (Amazon Leo)** Design and implement telecom components, applications, and services for Amazon Leo's global broadband connectivity initiative. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create efficient data models and integrate services. Key responsibilities include design, implementation, and partnering with satellite, networks, and security teams. Qualify with 3+ years of relevant software development experience and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field. U.S. citizenship or eligible work authorization required due to export control regulations.

Amazon Leo is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world.

Key job responsibilities
- Design and Implement Telecom Components, Applications and Services
- Partner with the Satellite, Networks and Security engineering teams
- Design components, services, and relevant data models

Export Control Requirement:
Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.




A day in the life
Have you wanted an opportunity to develop the software applications and services for an advanced global telecom service? This role is for a Software Development Engineer who will design, build, and maintain components and services of Amazon Leo's Customer Engagement Systems and interact with the core Leo Network.

About the team
Our team owns developing the architecture, solutions & roadmap for managing the customer lifecycle for telecom services; for example identity and account management, subscriber management services, user provisioning, billing and payments, customer and technical support tools, offer management tools, and customer metrics and analytics.

Basic Qualifications

- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Preferred Qualifications

- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
