Glencore’s McArthur River Mine (MRM) is a world-class zinc-lead mine with a long future. You’ll find our mine in the Gulf of Carpentaria 900 km southeast of Darwin and 64 km from Borroloola.

We produce and process zinc, lead and silver from our open cut mine. It is then stored and transported to our Bing Bong loading facility and shipped to our customers worldwide. Our customers use our essential commodities in everyday products for mobility, infrastructure and communications.

 

We are currently seeking a site-based Training Officer to facilitate and administer the Mining Department Training plan.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver the Mining Dept. induction and orientation program for new Mining Production personnel.
  • Promote and deliver training activities within the Mining Dept to consistently meet compliance targets for the Site Training Needs Analysis (TNA).
  • Ensure accurate and timely development of training documentation and undertake training administration duties as required.
  • Facilitate the Production Mining training forecast meetings and report on adherence to the weekly Mining Production training plan.
  • Develop, review, and implement training and assessment material.
  • Provide timely and accurate feedback to stakeholders on learner progression through training pathways.
  • Conduct administrative and reporting duties to support the Mining Training Plan.
  • Adherence to all training and operational procedures.

 

Requirements for Successful Applicant:

 

  • Cert IV Training & Assessment (TAE40122 preferred)
  • Valid Australian Driver’s Licence
  • 5 plus years’ experience in a similar training role.
  • Experience operating CAT Rigid Haul Trucks as a minimum.
  • RIIMPO338E Conduct rigid haul truck operations (preferred)
  • Demonstrated experience in training with Mining equipment simulators.
  • Experience in using all aspects of the Microsoft Office suite.
