The Opportunity

We are currently seeking an Underground Heavy-Duty Equipment Mechanic to join our Glencore Sudbury Integrated Nickel Operations.

The position will be based in Greater Sudbury (Onaping), Ontario.

This is a full-time, permanent, unionized position.

The hourly wage rate is $45.10 per hour, the position is eligible for applicable bonuses.

This position is being posted to fill an existing vacancy.

Work location is not accessible by public transportation.

Applications will be reviewed on an ongoing basis. We encourage early applications.

Duties and Accountabilities: 

This role involves inspecting, maintaining, adjusting, modifying, repairing, and testing all mine mobile equipment, as well as dismantling and assembling equipment as required to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operation.

About You

Your personal commitment to health, safety, training, and continuous improvement will be the key to your growth in this role.

Education and Skills

Applicants must be a certified Heavy Duty Equipment Technician, Truck and Coach Technician or Automotive Service Technician with at least three years recent, relevant experience, and possess a valid driver's license.

This position requires strong mechanical and communication skills both written and orally.
