**Cluster Architecture Docs & Standards Engineer** at AMD. Define, maintain, and communicate architecture documentation and standards for high-performance computing clusters. Key responsibilities include document creation, revision control, and stakeholder communication. ADVANCE YOUR CAREER. ADVANCE THE WORLD.

At AMD, we believe technology can change lives for the better. It can heal us, entertain us, and make us more connected, productive, and understanding of the world around us. And we’re looking for talent who feel the same: people who want to leave the planet better than they found it, those who don’t shy away from humanity’s challenges but are determined to help solve them.

AMD is powering the next generation of supercomputing, high-performance computing, cloud, and AI. Whether you’re designing next-gen processors, enabling AI breakthroughs, or creating go-to-market plans, every role at AMD contributes to something bigger — technology that moves the world forward.

THE ROLE

Global Cluster Engineering (GCE) at AMD has a unique opportunity for a Cluster Architecture Documentation & Standards Engineer who thrives in a fast-paced environment and partners with business, design, platform validation, and product engineering teams to create internal and external technical documentation for AMD's next-generation clusters. You will author clear, user-focused content for highly technical audiences while owning the standards that keep that content consistent, accurate, and trustworthy.

Beyond authoring, you will define the templates, style, terminology, and quality bar for cluster documentation. You will also drive alignment, so content produced across many teams reads as one coherent body of work. Success in this role requires strong written and verbal communication skills, disciplined project management, and the judgment to set a standard and bring people along with it.

THE PERSON

The ideal candidate is a dynamic, innovative individual who has demonstrated success in both technical content creation and project management. You take pride in consistency and quality—you are the kind of person who notices when two teams describe the same thing in three different ways and steps in to align.

You are willing to learn new technologies and find workarounds to technical challenges. You are also comfortable establishing review and acceptance criteria that raise the quality of everyone's output. You balance authoring your own content with guiding contributors toward a shared standard, and you can drive that alignment across a complex, global engineering organization.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Create clear, effective, user-focused technical documentation for highly technical audiences.
  • Define, publish, and maintain documentation standards—style guides, templates, terminology, and structure—for AMD's cluster content.
  • Drive alignment and consistency across teams so documentation from different authors and organizations forms a single, coherent whole.
  • Set and uphold the quality bar by establishing review and acceptance criteria, running editorial reviews, and tracking content to closure against those standards.
  • Promote cross-team collaboration and engagement among global subject-matter experts, marketing, and technical support staff.
  • Understand and promote usability and product goals.
  • Plan and track projects effectively and clearly report project status and issues across all levels of the organization.
  • Manage multiple projects through shifting priorities and deadlines.
  • Adhere to and continuously improve established technical writing standards.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

  • Experience writing technical documentation for a major product, product suite, or technology.
  • Experience defining or maintaining documentation standards, style guides, or content templates across multiple contributors.
  • Ability to work in Linux/Unix as well as Windows-based systems.
  • Comfort working from the command line on remote systems to validate steps for tool installation, configuration, and cluster benchmarking.
  • Experience managing multiple projects using collaborative platforms (e.g., Confluence, Jira).
  • Highly motivated to seek out solutions and willing to learn new skills to fulfill job requirements.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and organizational skills in English.
  • Familiarity with High Performance Computing (HPC) and cluster networks.
  • Experience with GPU communication libraries.
  • Understanding of IT infrastructure such as servers, networking, storage, and operating systems.

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS

  • BA in Technical Communication, English, Journalism, Or BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering
