**Hardware Sourcing & Supply Chain Manager:** Drive global hardware projects at Valve. Manage RFQs with key tech partners, optimize costs, monitor market trends, and ensure seamless supplier relations for Steam Deck, Controller, Machine, and more.req: 7+ yrs exp. in hardware sourcing, supply chain, or related field. Proven contract negotiation, supplier management, and cost optimization skills. Experience with relevant tech (e.g., electronics, gaming hardware) and tools like Excel, ERP systems, and PLM.strong communication and influencing skills.

At Valve, Hardware Sourcing and Supply Chain managers deliver world class hardware products to the market, such as Steam Deck, Steam Controller, Steam Machine and the Steam Frame. Contract Management activities like ensuring Non-Disclosure Agreements, General Terms & Conditions, Purchase Agreements, and other related contracts are negotiated before design win or MP kickoff RFQ Management with key technology players, running/coordinating RFQ processes with Engineering teams, down selecting based on technical and sourcing requirements, and ensuring all commercial terms are agreed and documented Cost Management activities like driving component cost negotiations, NRE spend management, Excess and Obsolescence mitigation and market condition impacts on unit costs Longer term Sourcing management involving global industry trends, tracking technology roadmaps, and actively partnering with the Design teams to identify the right suppliers to work with for potential future projects or products Managing Supplier relations and performance, including but not limited to dispute resolution, mitigating supply and demand challenges, maintaining supplier scorecards, and periodic business reviews Influencing next-gen products by participating in design reviews, change control meetings, and other technical discussions with Engineering partners; Contributing to Design for Manufacturability reviews with Engineering partners and prospective suppliers, and driving decisions from a cost and supply perspective Understanding technical drawings and specifications as well as manufacturing process controls and quality assurance for our commodity space; and communicating with technical stakeholders both internally and externally Identifying and communicating strategic issues about supply, costs, and/or quality with cross functional team; Developing corrective action plans to mitigate identified risks Resolving Continuity of Supply issues and driving material planning with the goals of meeting forecast flexibility Like most roles at Valve, we don't have headcount targets, we aren’t actively looking to fill an open position, and we don’t generally require specific credentials or qualifications.
