Amazon Logistics is building a world-class transportation and delivery operation, and we are looking for a proven engineering leader to own and drive the LATAM Engineering organization. In this role, you will manage Design, Project, Process, and Automation Engineering operations for Amazon Logistics (AMZL) and Amazon Transportation Systems (ATS) across Brazil and Mexico.

You will serve as the single-threaded leader for all engineering execution across LATAM, balancing strategic roadmap ownership with hands-on delivery leadership across two countries with distinct operational contexts. Key job responsibilities
- Lead a multi-country engineering organization of 24+ professionals across Brazil, Mexico and Europe through 3 direct-report managers, driving talent development, succession planning, and hiring to build organizational capability
- Own and deliver the LATAM Engineering roadmap aligned with worldwide and regional leadership priorities, managing 50+ annual projects resulting in 100+ site modifications
- Define and execute the automation strategy for LATAM, including deploying worldwide products and launching first-of-kind automation projects using AutoCAD and capacity calculation tools
- Partner with senior stakeholders to align regional needs with global strategies, communicating delivery performance and financial results of capital projects to leadership
- Drive standardization and process improvement in physical infrastructure, layout design, and material flow across the Last Mile delivery network

A day in the life
You start your morning reviewing project status across the various programs, connecting with your managers to unblock priorities and align on weekly deliverables. Mid-morning might find you in a design review for a new Sort Center layout or evaluating an automation proposal. Afternoons often shift to stakeholder alignment — presenting roadmap progress to regional leadership or collaborating with worldwide engineering peers on technology deployments. You balance strategic planning with tactical problem-solving, toggling between long-term infrastructure vision and near-term execution challenges.

About the team
The Emerging Countries Engineering team is a worldwide business support function that innovates and scales best-in-class processing infrastructure for Amazon's logistics network. The LATAM Engineering organization combines local presence in Brazil and Mexico with centralized development of long-term solutions. The team is responsible for layout design, equipment specification, mechanical capacity planning, Sort Center design and launch, and automation projects — and is actively expanding its scope into new delivery models and automation deployments.

Basic Qualifications

- 10+ years of experience in engineering or operations leadership

Preferred Qualifications

- MBA or post graduate technical degree
