Job Summary

Applies developed subject matter knowledge in environmental compliance and sustainability to manage product stewardship activities across printing hardware and supplies (ink and toner cartridges). Works independently with general direction to influence product design, ensure regulatory compliance, and enable global market access.

Leads and contributes to cross-functional programs that integrate Design for Environment (DfE), regulatory requirements, and Sustainable Impact (SI) objectives across the product lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Apply advanced knowledge of environmental requirements to define and implement DfE goals in partnership with R&D and engineering teams, ensures product compliance, risk mitigation, and market access readiness
  • Influence product design decisions by identifying environmental improvement opportunities and driving stakeholder alignment, drives environmental performance improvements across hardware and supplies portfolios
  • Track and analyze progress against environmental targets across development and sustaining phases
  • Lead execution of product compliance strategies to meet global regulatory and voluntary requirements
  • Interpret evolving regulations and translate them into actionable requirements for product portfolios
  • Serve as subject matter expert in environmental compliance domains (Energy, Material, ECOlabels, Packaging etc.)
  • Lead moderately complex programs including scope, schedule, risk management, and stakeholder communication
  • Contribute to Sustainable Impact (SI) initiatives and sustainability strategies
  • Influences cross-functional decisions and supports delivery of Sustainable Impact commitments

Education & Experience

  • First-level university degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Materials Science, or related field; advanced degree is a plus
  • Typically 3+ years of experience in product compliance, sustainability, engineering, or related discipline
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams in a global environment

Knowledge & Skills

  • Knowledge of environmental regulations and ecolabel requirements (e.g., RoHS, Energy Star, EPEAT, Blue angel)
  • Strong project and program management skills
  • Proficiency in data analysis and digital tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI, Smartsheet)
  • Effective communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating across teams

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) methodologies
  • Experience with both hardware and supplies product ecosystems
  • Familiarity with sustainability strategy and regulatory trends
  • Experience using advanced analytics or AI tools
  • Multilingual capability is a plus (e.g., Korean, German)
