What You'll Be Doing:

As part of the optiSLang development team, you'll work on exciting enhancements to optimization algorithms and metamodel techniques that power real-world engineering solutions. Your contributions will span from mathematical formulation to hands-on implementation and testing:

  • Conduct research and development activities focused on optimization algorithms, metamodel techniques, and machine learning applications, combining literature review with practical software development
  • Develop and implement algorithmic prototypes using C++ and Python, creating consistent mathematical formulations and integrating them into software libraries
  • Create comprehensive test cases and automated benchmarking scripts to evaluate algorithm performance on real application examples, ensuring robust and reliable solutions
  • Collaborate actively with cross-functional teams by participating in planning meetings, gathering requirements, and presenting your findings through detailed documentation and engaging presentations
  • Explore and experiment with cutting-edge technologies in numerical methods, machine learning, and statistical analysis while working hands-on with advanced simulation software

  • What You'll Need:

  • Currently pursuing a Master's degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or Computer Science, ideally in the final years of your program
  • Familiar in numerical methods with a genuine interest in machine learning, optimization, and statistical techniques
  • Familiarity in C++ and Python programming, with demonstrated technical skills in software development and experience working in Windows/Linux environments
  • Ability to communicate in English, both written and verbal
  • Problem-solving mindset with a strong desire to learn by doing, explore new technologies, and tackle challenging engineering problems
  • Familiarity with surrogate modeling using tools such as Matlab, Python, C++, TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn, or Theano
  • Understanding of computational mathematics with experience using libraries like Python/Pandas, Python/NumPy, and Python/SciPy
