Tower Research Capital is a leading quantitative trading firm founded in 1998. Tower has built its business on a high-performance platform and independent trading teams. We have a 25+ year track record of innovation and a reputation for discovering unique market opportunities.

Tower is home to some of the world’s best systematic trading and engineering talent. We empower portfolio managers to build their teams and strategies independently while providing the economies of scale that come from a large, global organization.

Engineers thrive at Tower while developing electronic trading infrastructure at a world class level. Our ongoing investment in top engineering talent and technology ensures our platform remains unmatched in terms of functionality, scalability and performance.

At Tower, every employee plays a role in our success. Our Business Support teams are essential to building and maintaining the platform that powers everything we do — combining market access, data, compute, and research infrastructure with risk management, compliance, and a full suite of business services. Our Business Support teams enable our trading and engineering teams to perform at their best

At Tower, employees will find a stimulating, results-oriented environment where highly intelligent and motivated colleagues inspire each other to reach their greatest potential.

Responsibilities

  • Designing and building “Source of Truth” systems that unify global trading data for Finance, Operations, and Regulatory partners, and applications that trace trades from raw execution to the final balance sheet.
  • Developing robust software to collect, analyze, and visualize large datasets, enabling real-time identification of trends and anomalies.
  • Re-engineering manual processes into scalable, automated software solutions.
  • Collaborating with other technical teams to ensure seamless data flow and resolve upstream/downstream integration challenges.
  • Advocating for architectural patterns that improve reliability and auditability.
  • Identifying opportunities to leverage technology to solve trading infrastructure management challenges.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or a related field, with at least 2–4 years of experience working in a Linux environment.
  • Expertise in Python or Java, with the ability to write clean, asynchronous, and testable code for complex business logic, and experience with distributed applications, concurrency, and performance tuning.
  • Experience with modern application frameworks, preferably Vue.js, for building data-intensive applications, along with full-stack development experience.
  • Working knowledge of RESTful or gRPC APIs, HTTP servers, caching strategies, load balancing, and Apache Kafka or other event-driven and messaging architectures.
  • A background in translating complex functional requirements into robust database schemas and scalable software models, with a strong emphasis on monitoring, alerting, data integrity, testability, code readability, and maintainable architecture.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and attention-to-detail skills, with the ability to learn quickly, adapt to changing priorities, and work autonomously as a self-starter within a collaborative team environment; prior financial industry experience is not required.

Benefits
