Your area of work:

Located in Prague, we are looking for a Functional Analyst to join our ‘Middleware & Data’ Connectivity team. In this role, you will act as a key interface between business stakeholders and development teams, primarily supporting middleware applications and services.

 

The ideal candidate is a highly analytical and collaborative professional with excellent communication skills in English. They should be capable of understanding and challenging business requirements, translating them into clear and comprehensive functional specifications and user stories. Previous experience in functional analysis within the financial services industry would be considered a strong advantage.

 

Your responsibilities:

  • Gather, analyse, and validate business requirements, proactively identifying potential impacts, dependencies, gaps, and risks to ensure solutions are assessed and aligned with business objectives.
  • Act as the bridge between business and development teams to ensure a common understanding of requirements, scope and expected outcomes.
  • Translate business requirements into clear user stories, functional specifications, technical inputs and acceptance criteria.
  • Participate in and coordinate meetings with business, development and testing stakeholders.
  • Write, review and maintain Functional Acceptance Criteria (FAC), ensuring they are precise, testable and traceable to the requirements.
  • Support testing by executing Functional Acceptance tests, analyzing defects, clarifying expected behavior and contributing to issue resolution across test environments.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of functional analysis practices through knowledge sharing and process documentation.

 

Your profile:

  • University degree or equivalent professional qualification and/or relevant professional experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a Functional Analyst or Business Analyst in software specification and testing
  • Ability to analyze business needs and translate them into structured functional documentation, user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Basic knowledge of SQL and databases.
  • Previous experience with Jira and Confluence.
  • Practical experience with Agile/Scrum delivery methodologies.
  • Excellent analytical, communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Team player with a positive, proactive and solution-oriented attitude.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects or priorities in parallel.
  • Flexible, autonomous, open-minded and eager to learn.
  • Professional proficiency in spoken and written English. 

 

Would be an advantage:

  • Previous experience working with SWIFT messages, including MT or MX standards
  • Experience in the financial services or securities industry.
