**DLT Design Lead (f/m/d) - Luxembourg** Lead clear securing design of DLT solutions, smart contracts, integrations, ensuring scalable, secure, future-proof digital asset ecosystem. Collaborate cross-functionally, translating strategy into tangible post-trade services.

Luxembourg

Your career at Deutsche Börse Group

Your area of work:

Clearstream’s D7 platform has laid the foundation for the digital issuance and servicing of securities across domestic and international markets. Building on this success, we are developing the next generation of post-trade infrastructure by connecting traditional market infrastructures with Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT), enabling new opportunities across the full digital asset value chain.

As DLT Design Lead, you will play a key role in shaping the architecture of our digital asset ecosystem and the future European Digital CSD. You will lead the end-to-end design of DLT-based solutions, smart contract frameworks, and integration models that bridge innovative blockchain technology with highly regulated financial market infrastructures. Working closely with Product, Architecture, Engineering, and Business teams across Europe and Asia, you will translate strategic objectives into scalable, secure, and future-proof solutions for tokenized securities and digital post-trade services.

Your responsibilities:

  • Own the end-to-end functional and technical design of Clearstream’s DLT and digital asset platforms, ensuring scalability, security, and operational resilience.
  • Define smart contract architectures, transaction lifecycle models, and decentralized workflows supporting digital securities and tokenized assets.
  • Design and implement hybrid on-chain/off-chain architectures, including data models, connectivity patterns, and integration frameworks.
  • Lead API, messaging, and event-driven architecture design, including API standards, versioning strategies, Kafka-based event streaming, and interface governance.
  • Define integration solutions between DLT platforms and traditional financial market infrastructures such as settlement, custody, clearing, and registry services.
  • Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Architects, Engineers, and Smart Contract Developers to translate business requirements into implementable solution designs.
  • Drive architectural governance by evaluating technology choices, documenting key design decisions, and maintaining Architecture Decision Records (ADRs) and Software Design Documents (SDDs).
  • Act as a technical leader and mentor, fostering DLT best practices and supporting the adoption of innovative digital asset technologies across the organization.

Your profile:

  • University degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related discipline.
  • 8+ years of professional experience in software engineering, solution architecture, or system design, with a strong focus on distributed systems and enterprise integration.
  • Proven experience designing and leading DLT, blockchain, or digital asset platforms, including smart contract architectures and decentralized operating models.
  • Strong hands-on expertise in smart contract design, API architecture, event-driven systems, and enterprise integration patterns.
  • Solid understanding of hybrid on-chain/off-chain architectures, data distribution strategies, and secure connectivity models.
  • Experience with enterprise technologies such as Java, microservices, Apache Kafka, and cloud-native platforms; knowledge of Hyperledger, Besu, Solidity, DAML, or similar frameworks is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Excellent written and spoken English; knowledge of German, French, Luxembourgish, or Czech would be considered an asset.
