Amazon Ring is looking for a Software Development Engineer who will be a part of our VDC Software team, playing a critical role in deploying and operating internal engineering platforms that accelerate hardware product development across Ring, Blink, and Key Security product lines.

You will own the end-to-end deployment of a vendor-provided platform on Amazon's AWS infrastructure -- adapting vendor CDK to Amazon security standards, building deployment pipelines, developing custom integrations, and owning production operations. Beyond leveraging AI agents and Generative AI tools in your daily workflow, you'll also contribute to building AI-powered automation that is transforming manufacturing software development. You must be responsive, flexible and able to succeed within a fast-paced environment.

Excels at adapting third-party infrastructure to enterprise security and compliance standards
Has shipped production cloud services through the complete development lifecycle
Demonstrates technical leadership through cross-team coordination without direct authority

A day in the life
As a member of the VDC Software team, you will own internal platform deployment that directly enables hardware engineers in the same building to design better products faster. You will interact with a versatile team of firmware engineers, hardware engineers, and external vendors to deploy, integrate, and operate platforms at scale. This is a fast-paced, intellectually challenging position where you work with experts across security, infrastructure, and hardware engineering domains. You have high standards for yourself and everyone you work with, and you are constantly looking for ways to improve reliability, security, and developer experience.

About the team
RBKS's VDC Software team owns manufacturing firmware, factory automation software, AI-powered development agents, and internal platform deployments for consumer electronics products. We ship code that impacts every device manufactured across multiple product lines worldwide. We work side-by-side with hardware engineering -- same building, same floor -- enabling rapid iteration between software platform capabilities and hardware product needs.

Basic Qualifications

- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code or CI/CD pipeline development

Preferred Qualifications

- 2+ years of hands-on AWS experience (ECS, RDS, IAM, CDK or CloudFormation)
- Experience deploying vendor/third-party platforms on cloud infrastructure
- Experience with container orchestration, SSO integration
- Experience coordinating technical deliverables with external vendors
- Security compliance experience (threat modeling, audit remediation)
- Experience with using AI tools to improve productivity
