Business Title Automotive Business Development – Semiconductor & Ecosystem Strategy

The Automotive Business Development will lead Synopsys’ automotive business development and ecosystem strategy in China, with a strong focus on semiconductor-driven automotive innovation. This role goes beyond traditional partnership development.

The successful candidate will engage at executive level with OEMs, Tier 1s, semiconductor companies and ecosystem partners, influence top‑down technology and platform decisions, and work closely with Sales and Business Units to shape customer roadmaps and accelerate adoption of Synopsys solutions across chips, architecture and system-level platforms.

Primary Responsibilities

• Own and drive Synopsys automotive business development strategy in China, with clear linkage to semiconductor platforms, system architecture and long-term ecosystem evolution.

• Engage top management (CTO, Chief Architect, VP Engineering, BU Heads) at OEMs, Tier 1s and automotive semiconductor customers to influence strategic technology decisions.

• Identify, develop and execute strategic partnerships and ecosystem initiatives that enable adoption of Synopsys solutions across EDA, System, and IP, etc.

• Work hand-in-hand with Sales to:

o Shape customer strategy and account plans

o Enable high‑impact executive engagements

o Convert ecosystem and partnership activities into tangible business outcomes

• Collaborate closely with Business Units to translate local automotive customer needs into solution requirements, orchestrating alignment across function units, influencing product positioning, integration and roadmap priorities.

• Act as a trusted strategic advisor to key customers on semiconductor architecture, design flows, platform strategies and future automotive technology directions.

• Represent Synopsys Automotive at executive briefings, customer workshops and selected industry forums, reinforcing Synopsys’ thought leadership in automotive semiconductor and system innovation. Key Qualifications & Experience

• At least five years of Automotive market experience, with a focus on new applications (AD, ADAS, next generation infotainment, connectivity services) previous experience at and/or working with semiconductor companies, Tier 1s and OEMs

• Solid technical background preferred, especially related to: Automotive semiconductors, SoC / chip platforms, system or domain architectures; EDA, IP, verification, system design, software quality or related technologies.

• Demonstrated business development or strategic role experience in the automotive, semiconductor or system platform domain; proven ability to engage, influence and communicate at executive level, including framing value propositions for top‑down decision making.

• Strong capability to work in matrix environments, influencing without authority and driving alignment across Sales, Marketing, Business Units and global teams.

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required; advanced degree in Engineering or Business is a plus.
