You Are
We are seeking a deeply experienced Life Sciences Industry Leader to spearhead the digital transformation of the world's leading pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and medical device companies. This executive role is focused on establishing Google Cloud as the essential platform for accelerating scientific discovery, re-engineering clinical development, and creating intelligent manufacturing and supply chains.
The Work
You will be responsible for helping these science-driven organizations harness the power of Google Cloud's high-performance computing, Data, AI, and agentic technologies to bring novel therapies and devices to patients faster and more efficiently. The ideal candidate will have profound domain expertise across the life sciences value chain and a powerful vision for how technology can revolutionize the future of medicine.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Industry Leadership: You will be the chief architect and driver of Google Cloud's comprehensive go-to-market strategy for the Life Sciences industry. This involves defining a clear vision for how Google Cloud will support the unique needs of biopharmaceutical R&D, clinical trials, medical device development, and GxP-regulated manufacturing. You will act as the senior voice of the life sciences customer within Google, translating critical industry challenges into actionable strategies for our product, engineering, and infrastructure teams.
R&D and Scientific Discovery Transformation: You will serve as a trusted, peer-level advisor to the Chief Scientific Officers, CIOs, and Heads of R&D at our most strategic clients. Your primary focus will be on transforming the research and development engine by leveraging Google Cloud's massive-scale infrastructure for computationally intensive workloads like genomics, proteomics, molecular modeling, and cryo-EM analysis. You will champion the use of AI and machine learning to accelerate drug discovery, from AI-driven target identification and validation to in-silico molecule design and optimization.
Clinical Development and Operations Modernization: You will lead the development of innovative solutions to modernize and accelerate the clinical trials process. This includes creating data-driven platforms to optimize trial design and site selection, enhance patient recruitment and retention through digital tools, and enable decentralized clinical trials. You will drive the adoption of our data platform to unify and analyze complex clinical data from various sources (EDC, ePRO, wearables), applying AI to gain real-time insights and improve patient safety and outcomes.
Smart Manufacturing and GxP Compliance: You will lead our strategy for bringing Pharma 4.0 and intelligent manufacturing to the life sciences industry. This involves developing solutions for process analytical technology (PAT), predictive quality, and yield optimization in a compliant GxP (Good {Clinical, Laboratory, Manufacturing} Practice) environment. You will guide customers in building resilient, agile supply chains and creating digital twins of their manufacturing processes, all while ensuring adherence to the strictest regulatory standards like 21 CFR Part 11.
Data, AI, and Thought Leadership: You will champion the use of Google's platforms to break down longstanding data silos across R&D, clinical, and commercial operations, enabling the use of real-world data (RWD) and real-world evidence (RWE) at scale. As the public face and thought leader for Google Cloud in Life Sciences, you will represent us at major industry events like the J.P. Morgan Healthcare Conference and BIO International Convention, engaging with regulatory bodies, and articulating a powerful vision for the secure, intelligent, and data-driven future of the industry.
Travel may be required for this role. The amount of travel will vary from 0 to 100% depending on business need and client requirements.
