LEAD AUTOMATION ENGINEER - EMBEDDED PROCESSOR DEVELOPMENT THE ROLE: As part of the AMD Embedded Processor Development Team, We are seeking a hands-on Automation Leader to define and scale automation strategy across semiconductor system teams—including silicon bring-up, platform software, firmware, drivers, virtualization, and end-to-end system validation. Owns the vision, architecture, and execution of automation frameworks spanning pre-silicon to post-silicon flows, continuous integration, large-scale lab orchestration, performance regression, and quality dashboards. You will lead multi-disciplinary automation engineers while partnering with silicon design, firmware, OS, validation, and DevOps teams to dramatically improve coverage, velocity, and product quality. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: AUTOMATION STRATEGY AND ARCHITECTURE Lead the Automation roadmap across system validation, SoC platforms, and software stacks. Drive unified automation frameworks for: Firmware/BIOS Drivers & kernel Virtualization & hypervisors Power and Performance Automation Standardize CI/CD pipelines across Firmware, Linux device drivers . Own tooling decisions: test orchestration, lab control, results analytics, dashboards. Leverage AI Solutions for driving efficiency improvements across the organization Proactively drive continuous improvement for post-silicon power and performance activities Must be a self-starter, and able to independently drive tasks to completion KEY SKILLS: Expert level Jenkins (pipelines) Shell Script Docker Python Linux (Ubuntu, Yocto) Git Github actions Setting up and maintaining robust Automation Infrastructure Jfrog artifactory Github CoPilot and related AI tools to boost productivity Moderate Level PXE OS Install of windows and linux in UEFI mode Setting up and maintaining PXE Servers Networking in Linux PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: Proven track record of developing and architecting Robust Automation Infrastructures in a x86 environment Power user of building linux kernel and userspace components from sources and creating debians from control and install files. Usage of Github automation frameworks Experienced with creating modular and maintainable code adhering to best practices Experience with debugging and setting up computer networks Software and hardware test + debug experience Experience in data analytics and report generation is an asset Experience in cross OS development in Linux and windows environment preferred Product development or systems engineering background with hardware platforms and their software & firmware ecosystems Excellent verbal communication and written, presentation skills Excellent interpersonal, organizational, analytical, planning, and technical leadership skills Experience working in a fast-paced matrixed technical organization and multi-site environment WHY JOIN US Lead automation for next-generation SoCs and platforms.
