Manages and leads a team of technical support staff responsible for designing, developing, testing, implementing, and monitoring software and tools. Partners with business leaders to define scope and requirements, and plans the development and delivery of systems. Oversees staffing, budgeting, and service-delivery metrics, and ensures compliance with IT and information security policies. This role emphasizes modern engineering practices, Agile methods, and AI-assisted tooling to drive improved client outcomes in Wealth Management Technology.

Manages and leads a team of technical support staff who design, develop, test, implement, and monitor software and tools. Works with business leaders to define scope and requirements, and plans and executes the development of various systems. Acts as liaison with business sponsors and principals.

Advice & Wealth Management Technology (AWMT) builds platforms that advance how portfolios are constructed and how investment advice is delivered. In this role, you’ll lead an engineering team enabling sophisticated investment techniques that support improved client outcomes, including support for more advanced investment products and a broader range of portfolio construction approaches.

You’ll partner closely with product and investment methodology stakeholders while helping your team grow their technical capability and investment acumen, working in a tight‑knit Dallas engineering community that values collaboration, problem‑solving, and bringing out the best in each other. You’ll continuously apply modern engineering practices and leverage AI‑assisted engineering as part of the team’s toolkit.

What You’ll Do:

  • Hire, evaluate, and supervise crew. Provide guidance and training as necessary to develop crew. Set performance standards, review performance, and make informed compensation decisions in accordance with all applicable human resources policies and procedures.

  • Deliver software releases relating to the product for the business units. Work with business clients to determine scope and develop environmental requirements for each project.

  • Work closely with management to develop and implement staffing and operational plans. Participate in the development of short and long term department goals. Monitor and report on service delivery metrics and overall performance.

  • Develop and implement changes to department policies and procedures to meet changing business needs and to achieve department objectives. Identify opportunities for continuous improvement.

  • Lead quality initiatives to improve the delivery of service levels. Work with senior management in the planning, development, and execution of short and long range goals.

  • Present status, metrics, and department initiatives at meetings with management and project peers. Maintain relationships with technical teams, IT, and business partners.

  • Participate in the development of the department budget. Review expenses and ensure department operates within budgetary guidelines.

  • Ensure staff comply with information technology and information security policies and procedures and verify that deliverables meet requirements.

  • Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned.

Specializations that will make an impact:

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.

  • Scrum or Agile methodology certification.

  • AWS cloud certification.

  • Hands‑on software development experience.

  • Experience using AI‑assisted tools (e.g., Copilot).

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of eight years related work experience, with at least five years of project management experience.

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience. Graduate degree preferred.

  • Proven people‑leadership experience, including the ability to grow, develop, and support a team.

  • Strong technical acumen with the ability to understand and interpret technical details.

  • Demonstrated project‑leadership capability, including driving initiatives to completion using Agile methodologies and tools.
