Lead the operations of one or more Amazon Data Center Clusters and Colocation operations within a region, owning safety, security, availability, scaling, efficiency and cost. Manage and develop the operations team including compute operations managers, engineering operations managers, logistics operations managers and their teams. Plan and execute the Infrastructure Operations component of new datacenter and Colocation expansions, maintain critical mechanical/electrical/controls systems, manage vendor relationships, handle incident response, and drive continuous process improvement.
Key job responsibilities
- Hiring, managing and developing the operations team including compute operations managers, engineering operations managers, logistics operations managers and their teams
- Attainment of organizational performance goals and objectives relating to safety, security, availability, scaling, efficiency and cost
- Planning and executing the Infrastructure Operations component of new datacenter and Colocation (Colo) expansions
- Operation and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, and controls systems for Amazon datacenters to include preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance and change management
- Vendor management of Colo datacenter services providers to meet or exceed contracted performance SLA’s
- Safety, security, and availability incident response, incident management and incident resolution
- Continuous improvement of operational processes, procedures, methods and tools

Basic Qualifications
- 10+ years of relevant management experience in datacenter operations, facility engineering operations, information technology critical environment facilities, advanced high volume manufacturing, datacenter build-outs and scaling, or similar experience- Experience understanding electrical and mechanical systems involved in critical data center operations including systems such as feeders, transformers, generators, switch gear, UPS systems, ATS units, PDU units, chillers, pumps, or air handling units
- Experience working with and managing third party vendors
- Experience leading continuous process improvement in a technical support environment
