Position Responsibilities:
Verify AWS quality standards are met at suppliers through in-person and remote audits. Define and roll out incoming inspection/first article inspection plans. Drive supplier and product qualification and assessment processes in support of procurement teams including effective resolution of any issues identified. Monitor and report on supplier performance quality metrics and actions. Lead supplier quality issue resolution in partnership with engineering, construction and commissioning teams. Develop and support suppliers with quality improvement initiatives and key performance indicators (KPI). Provide a feedback mechanism from suppliers to internal teams on joint quality issues. Work on concurrent projects, sometimes in multiple geographical regions. AWS infrastructure services own the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure.
Position Requirements:
Master’s degree or foreign equivalent degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field and one year of experience in the job offered or a related occupation. Employer will accept a bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related field and five years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or a related occupation as equivalent to a master’s degree and one year of experience. Must have one year of experience in the following skills: (1) supplier qualifications, audits, and quality management systems (ISO9000, TS/IATF, or related); (2) utilizing problem solving techniques (8D, 5WHY, FMEA, SPC or related). Domestic and/or international travel up to 50% to perform role responsibilities may be required.
