**The minimum base pay salary for this position is listed below. Amazon reserves the right to offer a higher base salary, depending on the candidate's skills, competencies, and experience. As a total compensation company, Amazon's package may include further pay components such as a sign on payment and the eligibility to participate in a restricted stock unit scheme operated independently by Amazon.com Inc. in USA. Your recruiting team will share final base pay and any applicable total compensation elements depending on skills and requirements. Key job responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain cloud-based and edge-based ambient AI systems
- Build frameworks for concurrent video and audio processing across multiple sensors
- Implement agentic workflow systems that integrate with AI models and real-time context
- Optimize system performance through prompt fine-tuning, token optimization, and architectural improvements
- Contribute to rapid prototyping platforms that enable team-wide experimentation
- Participate in code reviews, technical design discussions, and architecture planning
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team knowledge sharing


A day in the life
Lead and Build: Take ownership of critical features and systems from conception to production, working with minimal guidance to deliver high-impact solutions for ambient AI capabilities.

Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Partner with product managers, principal engineers, senior SDEs, and engineering managers across multiple teams to understand problem spaces and drive solution architectures.

Innovate Rapidly: Work in an experimentation-focused environment where you'll prototype, iterate, and optimize AI-powered features that enable whole-home intelligence and family assistance scenarios.

Drive Technical Excellence: Design and implement scalable, multi-tenant systems that handle real-time data processing, concurrent inferencing, and orchestration of agentic workflows.

Basic Qualifications

- Experience (non-internship) in professional software development
- Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# including object-oriented design
- Experience debugging, profiling, and implementing best software engineering practices in large-scale systems
- Experience with full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field
- 3+ years of professional software development experience
- Proficiency in at least one modern programming language (Python, Java, C++, or similar)
- Experience with distributed systems, APIs, and cloud technologies
- Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software design patterns
- Demonstrated ability to deliver projects with minimal supervision

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with AI/ML systems, computer vision, or natural language processing
- Knowledge of real-time data processing and streaming architectures
- Familiarity with multi-tenant system design and microservices architecture
- Experience with AWS services or other cloud platforms
- Background in building experimentation or prototyping platforms
- Track record of leading technical initiatives in fast-paced environments
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams including product and research
