Lead a team to design, implement, and deploy internet-scale systems and services in support of Amazon's fulfillment operations and the businesses they support. Define secure, scalable, and low-latency services and efficient physical processes, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver demanding projects. Manage day-to-day development activities for the team, including standups and sprint planning, while understanding system interdependencies and setting realistic timelines with stakeholders.

Amazon Fulfillment Technologies (AFT) – Emerging Technology team powers the physical engine at the heart of Amazon. AFT builds and operates the software, hardware, and processes that run the global network of fulfillment centers, which move billions of units of inventory and ensures customers get what they want when promised.

AFT S&C's mission is to leverage cutting-edge technology to make Amazon the leader in the safety of people, products, and environment, while maintaining compliance with laws and regulations. Our focus areas include workplace and customer safety, securing our product supply chain (through restricted/recalled and hazmat management), maintaining site environmental safety (waste management), and ensuring compliance (through adherence to laws and regulations). We strive to reduce safety and compliance risks/defects, while optimizing for business outcomes in an increasingly complex operational and regulatory landscape

What you’ll do:
- Lead a team to design, implement, and deploy successful internet-scale systems and services in support of our fulfillment operations and the businesses they support.
- Lead the definition of secure, scalable, and low-latency services and efficient physical processes.
- Work with cross-functional teams delivering on demanding projects.
- Manage the day-today development activities for your team, including standup, managing sprints, etc.
- Understand system interdependencies and limitations.
- Work with stakeholders to establish timelines for new projects.

Basic Qualifications

- 3+ years of engineering team management experience
- 7+ years of working directly within engineering teams experience
- 3+ years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience
- Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
- Experience partnering with product or program management teams

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
- Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
