Lead and mentor a team of software engineers building catalog platform services powering product discovery and related product recommendations at Amazon. Own vision, strategy, and end-to-end delivery, balancing business needs with constraints while driving architectural decisions. Collaborate with AWS technologies and internal platforms, influence technical strategy across large-scale distributed systems, and shape initiatives like language models, international expansion, and new shopping experiences. Focus on building scalable, reliable services and developing engineering talent through hiring, feedback, and performance management.

Want to solve the hardest problems in e-commerce, including increasing selection and allowing customers to discover what they are looking for from billions of catalog items? Want to push the boundaries of distributed systems that are always available, and support thousands of invocations per second with single digit millisecond latency?

You and your team of engineers will be responsible for services that provide authoritative related product sets to power product discovery and shopping experiences on Amazon. These applications have a wide impact on buying experience for customers worldwide, so they can discover relevant products from billions of offerings across physical and digital products. As a core platform team, you will seek opportunities to eliminate undifferentiated work across Amazon and have significant influence on the technical strategy and delivery of Amazon's key initiatives like large language models, expansion to new countries, new user experiences, new physical stores, new product lines and so on. Your breadth of impact will range from how sellers and vendors list their products with Amazon's catalog, to how products make it through Amazon's fulfillment centers and to how our shopping customers find and discover the products they love!
