This role designs and architects end-to-end cloud solutions for complex financial services requirements, balancing strategic vision with hands-on technical work. You will build and maintain relationships with senior customer leaders, guiding implementations across compute, networking, storage, security, and software development to ensure secure, scalable, cost-optimized, and high-performing outcomes. You will lead architecture discussions, translate customer feedback into clear product and engineering requirements, and stay current with AWS services to craft innovative opportunities for US FSI Insurance clients.
This role balances strategic vision with hands-on technical work. You'll design and architect scalable solutions, assess customer workloads, and make technical trade-offs while building long-term trusted advisor relationships. You'll leverage your expertise across multiple technology domains including compute, networking, storage, security, and software development to guide implementations and research innovative opportunities. With entrepreneurial freedom and the ability to manage your own priorities, you'll help customers solve real-world problems with meaningful impact.
Key job responsibilities
- Design and architect end-to-end cloud solutions for complex customer requirements, making technical trade-offs and evaluating architectures for scale while ensuring solutions are extensible, reusable, secure, reliable, cost-optimized, and performant.
- Build and maintain relationships with customer senior leaders, understanding their business objectives and technical challenges to influence strategic direction and ensure technology decisions will meet long-term business outcomes.
- Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and business audiences, creating technical content that is easily adopted and reusable by others while harmonizing discordant views to build consensus.
- Lead technical discussions and dive deeply into technical details with customer teams across application architecture, system design, and implementation considerations, proactively identifying gaps and opportunities.
- Drive effective customer feedback gathering, distilling and translating feedback into clear business and technical requirements for product and engineering teams while contributing to reference designs and reusable artifacts.
A day in the life
Your day is highly dynamic, varying based on customer needs and priorities. You might start with internal planning meetings, reviewing customer architectures and preparing for upcoming engagements. Later, you'll lead an architecture design session with a financial services customer, whiteboarding solutions and diving deep into technical requirements. You'll spend time building proof-of-concept solutions for pressing customer challenges, then conduct office hours where customers bring their technical questions. Throughout the day, you'll collaborate with account teams to align on customer strategy, document technical recommendations, and dedicate time to staying current with new AWS services and features.
This role supports US-FSI-Insurance, working with customers in the financial services and insurance industry to help them transform their business through cloud technology. Our team combines deep industry knowledge with technical expertise to address the unique challenges of regulated financial institutions. Basic Qualifications
- 8+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience- 3+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience
- 10+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or Internet industries experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience communicating across technical and non-technical audiences, including executive level stakeholders or clients- Experience with presentations and speaking with executives, IT, management, and developers
- Experience working with end user or developer communities
- Experience migrating or transforming legacy customer solutions to the cloud

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
