System Development Manager for UTR Tech in Last Mile at Amazon. Lead a team of System Developers responsible for building and operating high-performance, globally scalable logistics systems. The role focuses on system design, automation, deployments, and operations to meet availability and performance targets as the business grows. Mentoring engineers, guiding architectural decisions, and driving end-to-end automation to achieve human-free operations.

UTR Tech is looking for a highly motivated System Development Manager to help build Amazon's business critical logistics systems and build system solutions to operate at scale. You will work on critical business functions for our customers around the world while meeting system availability goals and ensuring system performance with growing business needs. You will discover innovative ways to automate and scale our infrastructure as we expand globally. You will work together with multiple teams and departments, with plenty of opportunities to learn and grow.

The ideal candidate has a passion for understanding computing systems and for applying that understanding with an obsession for delighting customers. In this role, you will apply your skills of system design, networking, coding/scripting languages, as well as technical communication and project organization to make your impact on improving our business processes. The candidate is expected to contribute work critical initiatives, build products, lead engineers to troubleshoot, debug, evaluate and resolve computer-identified alarms, make feature enhancements, systems management, perform software deployments and migrations, host management and automate the operational tasks.
They would also be responsible to develop tools and end to end automation to achieve human free operations.

As an Manager in the team, you will take part in in the architecture, design, implementation and deployment of large-scale and complex software systems. You will get to leverage your experience and expertise to deliver innovative solutions to challenging problems. You will communicate your ideas effectively to achieve the right outcome for your team and customer. You enjoy collaborating with others to increase the effectiveness of the overall team. You will also have the opportunity to impact the technical decisions in the broader organization as well as mentor other engineers in the team. You will manage a team of System Developers running leading organization wide goals.

Basic Qualifications

- 3+ years of systems engineering and operations leadership for an Internet service or leading edge IT organization experience
- 5+ years of managing system or software development teams experience
- 7+ years of relevant hands-on systems engineering and administrative work in networking, storage systems, operating systems experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
- Experience in systems engineering and operations leadership for an Internet service or leading-edge IT organization
- Experience in managing system or software development teams
- Experience (hands-on) in systems engineering and administrative work in networking, storage systems, and operating systems
- Experience in agile software development methodology

Preferred Qualifications

- Knowledge of professional software engineering & best practices for full software development life cycle, including coding standards, software architectures, code reviews, source control management, continuous deployments, testing, and operational excellence
- Knowledge of systems engineering fundamentals (networking, storage, operating systems)
- Experience with Agile engineering practices (Kanban, continuous delivery, etc.)
- Experience with AWS platforms, services, and design patterns
