Lead programs with partner teams to define prototype deployment trials, strategic planning and development for AWS Core Networking's Network Fabric Engineering. Define requirements and timelines for production deployment, and support integration of new hardware technologies into the AWS Network. Communicate project plans and milestones proactively, manage dependencies and trade-offs across multiple projects in an agile environment, and ensure alignment with internal customers. The role focuses on delivering efficient, high-performance, reliable data center networking to keep AWS services available at scale.

The Core Networking team is looking for a Technical Program Manager to join our Network Fabric Engineering (NFE) team. AWS Core Networking is focused on building Data Centers and the network that allows Data Centers to function efficiently. We own the solutions that allow racks to be aggregated and Data Centers to be interconnected.
Core Networking's goal is to balance efficiency, performance and reliability to allow customers access to their applications and data. As Technical Program Manager you will lead programs with partner teams in defining prototype deployment trials, strategic planning and development, documenting the operational plans for production deployment and support partner teams in the integration of new hardware technologies into the AWS Network. You will interface with Networking leadership and Infra leadership, to define requirements and establish timelines for deployment. You will need to be proactive in communicating the project plans and milestone accomplishments and ensure alignment with our internal customers with regards to execution of the new deployment plans, management of defects, and rapid delivery of new technology deployment in an agile environment.
Key job responsibilities
* Write effective project charters based on business requirements for medium to large scale projects.
* Work with stakeholders (networking engineers/tech program managers/senior management, design engineers, operational deployment teams) to define requirements and processes.
* Manage the dependencies and the interfaces between projects and negotiate trade-offs if needed.
* Provide program progress reporting on a regular basis.
* End to end responsibility for the program’s execution and success.
* Manage multiple competing projects/programs simultaneously.
* Develop and implement scalable, data-driven process improvement/automated solutions.
* Keep the customer experience as the primary focus.
* Meets/exceeds Amazon’s leadership principles requirements for this role.
A day in the life
• Work in a 24x7 team on call rotation, with ability to drive into workplace for critical events/needs.
• Manage customers during problem resolution and operating efficiently under pressure.
• Sit at the computer during scheduled work hours with appropriate breaks while maintaining a high level of alertness and attention to detail.
• Travel to data center/network sites and Amazon/customer offices as needed.
About the team
AWS Network Fabric Engineering (NFE) owns data center network services that provide unconstrained connectivity to our customers, such as EC2, EBS, S3 and Amazon CDO Services. They own the networks internal to the data centers end to end, including scaling and operational functions, for both traditional data centers. Basic Qualifications
- 3+ years of technical infrastructure management experience- Knowledge of best practices and emerging technologies, related to infrastructure (i.e. network, data center, hardware, software)
- Experience with varying scenarios of infrastructure builds

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
