As a Staff DevOps Engineer, you will design, build, and operate Arm's AI infrastructure platforms, enabling thousands of engineers to ship software across diverse environments. You will own end-to-end CI/CD platforms (GitLab and CloudBees), implement Infrastructure as Code with Terraform, and operate scalable AWS-based systems with security and cost efficiency. You will mentor and collaborate with partner teams and help establish best practices for infrastructure operations, ensuring reliability, security, and performance at scale. This role offers technical leadership with opportunities to influence engineering standards and drive impactful platform improvements across Arm.

Job Overview

The PE AI & Engineering Excellence team is redefining how engineering platforms power productivity at Arm. We partner with engineering teams across Arm to deliver reliable, scalable, and secure infrastructure that enables engineers to move faster with confidence. Guided by our vision—engineering redefined through smarter workflows, faster execution, and greater reliability—we build the CI/CD and cloud platforms that underpin how software and hardware are developed at Arm.

As a Staff DevOps Engineer, you’ll be hands-on in designing, building, and operating Arm’s AI infrastructure platforms. This role focuses on platform ownership, automation, enabling thousands of engineers to build, test, and release software efficiently across diverse environments.

You’ll work closely with senior engineers, architects, while supplying deep technical leadership to ensure our platforms are secure, resilient, and built for scale.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, evolve and operate end-to-end CI/CD platforms (GitLab and CloudBees).
  • Architect and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform.
  • Design and operate AWS-based platforms with a focus on scale, security and cost efficiency.
  • Embed with partner teams to translate workflow needs into platform improvements.
  • Establish best practices for infrastructure operations.
  • Supply shared tooling, templates, and documentation.
  • Mentor and guide less-experienced engineers.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Validated experience in DevOps, Platform Engineering, or Infrastructure Engineering.
  • Extensive experience operating CI/CD systems at scale (GitLab Pipelines, Cloudbees/Jenkins).
  • Strong Terraform expertise, including module design and multi-environment deployments.
  • Deep AWS experience (IAM, VPCs, compute, storage, ECS, EKS).
  • Proficiency in Python (3.10+) or similar languages for automation.
  • Experience across Linux-based cloud and on-prem environments.
  • Strong understanding of reliability, scalability, and security trade-offs.
  • Strong communication and cross-team teamwork skills.

Nice to have skills and experience:

  • Experience operating in restricted or air-gapped environments.
  • Familiarity with secrets management systems (e.g., HashiCorp Vault).
  • Background supporting large-scale or hardware-adjacent engineering teams.

In Return

In return, you’ll join a team where platform engineering directly shapes how engineering gets done at Arm. You will work alongside expert engineers and architects, owning systems that are essential to Arm’s engineering velocity and reliability.

Expect opportunities to deepen your platform expertise, influence engineering standards at scale, and see your work deliver tangible, organization-wide impact—within an inclusive, forward-thinking culture that values curiosity, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
