As a key member of Aviva's Unified Communications team, the Network Engineer will analyze and improve technology operations to ensure efficient and reliable service delivery. This includes monitoring network performance, troubleshooting across diverse technologies, and supporting lifecycle planning and process development, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to maintain a secure, resilient infrastructure. You’ll assist in implementing operations frameworks, asset management, root cause analysis, and reporting on technology operations performance, and stay up to date with industry developments to deliver strong customer outcomes.

As a key member of the Unified Communications team, the Network Engineer will be responsible for analyzing and improving technology operations to ensure efficient and reliable service delivery. This includes monitoring network performance, troubleshooting issues across diverse technologies, and supporting lifecycle planning and process development. You’ll work closely with cross‑functional teams to optimize operations and maintain a secure, resilient infrastructure.
What you'll do
You will assist with the implementation of technology operations and services frameworks and processes, whilst working closely with the team to identify, assess and manage service needs across in-scope business areas.
Support the day-to-day activities such as analyzing and improving technology operations to ensure efficient and reliable service delivery, whilst ensuring compliance with internal policies, regulations, and standards.
Assist in technology asset management and lifecycle planning, analyze technology operations data and metrics to identify areas for improvement, respond to queries using established processes and procedures, identify and escalate more complex issues.
Assist in the development of operational processes and procedures and in the maintenance of technology operations frameworks, conduct root cause analysis and troubleshoot technology issues, monitor technology performance, and identify potential bottlenecks or risks.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve technology-related problems, prepare reports and presentations on technology operations performance.
Stay up to date with industry developments and advancements in technology, undertake relevant training and participate in various projects and initiatives as needed.
Support the delivery of good customer outcomes through all activities and deliverables, enabling us to act in good faith towards customers, avoid causing foreseeable harm and enable and support our customers to pursue their financial objectives.
What you'll bring
5-10 years of experience designing, implementing, and supporting complex multi-site networks
University level and/or equivalent applicable IT experience.
Network/Security Related Certifications (Cisco, AWS etc)
Strong knowledge of CISCO/FORTINET/F5/JUNIPER network hardware and software
Good working knowledge of UNIX and Windows systems software and hardware
Perform network troubleshooting to isolate and diagnose network problems and able to solve complex problems with multiple variables.
Strong knowledge of MPLS, Routing, Switching, SD-WAN, Cloud Computing, Voice over IP, and wireless technologies.
Strong experience in networking on multiple cloud platforms including AWS, along with deployment automation.
Strong knowledge of Firewalls, Load Balancers, DNS, and Security (e.g. IPS, ISE, etc.) products.
Experience with complex network infrastructure design.

What you’ll get
The salary band for this position ranges from $100,000 to $150,000. Please note that individual salary is determined by factors such as job-related knowledge, skills and experience, as well as internal equity.
