We’re seeking a future team member for the role of Managing Director, Application Support Manager to join our Technology Production Services team. This role is located in New York City.
In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways:
- Oversees a department that is responsible for delivery of application support that includes maintenance, integration, and implementation of software applications within the organization that align to the proper controls to support the production environment.
- Drive strategic priorities through expertise in complex cross-platform resiliency initiatives, cyber security incidents, and AI Adoption. Minimize service disruptions and optimize system performance by designing and implementing standard proactive monitoring and automation
- Develops and sets the strategic direction for Production Services function including processes, governance and supporting technology. Manages relationships with business and technology partners in defining, developing, and implementing solutions that have impact on improving the business.
- Orchestrates response to facilitate rapid recovery for business-critical incidents or globally significant events, minimizing client impact
- Manage compliance to key performance indicators (KPI) and service level objectives (SLAs) used to monitor and drive high standards of service delivery
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives that result in implementation of industry best practices, process improvement, toil reduction, and adoption of new technologies
To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience required; advanced degree preferred. 15-20 years of related experience required; experience in the securities or financial services industry is a plus
- Experience in managing application support teams, including maintenance, integration, and implementation of software applications.
- Experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering and ITIL
- Experience in developing and implementing strategic plans for Production Services processes, governance, and supporting technology.
- Experience in managing relationships with business and technology partners to drive solutions that impact the business.
- People leadership experience, with the ability to manage and develop high-performing teams.

BNY assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package for our employees. The base salary for this position is expected to be between $136,500 and $450,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of the BNY total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs.
This position is at-will and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, change in geographic location, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
