Cloud Computing Application Architect, Lead

The Opportunity:  

Everyone is trying to “harness the cloud,” but not everyone knows how. As a cloud computing application architect, you know how to create a cloud-based technical architecture that meets client needs and takes advantage of cloud capabilities.

What if you could use your cloud architecture skills to improve the homeland security mission? We need you to help us develop cloud-based solutions for some of homeland security's toughest problems.

As a leader on our team, you’ll design secure cloud services to support mission-critical operations. This is an opportunity to use the latest cloud technologies as you look for ways to improve your client’s environment using current cloud capabilities. Your technical expertise will be vital as you work directly with your team and the client to inform strategy and design and ensure standards are met throughout the cloud migration process.

You’ll recommend tools and solutions based on your research of the current environment and knowledge of various on-premises, cloud-based, and hybrid resources. You’ll use your experience to guide your team as they help the client overcome their most difficult challenges in the cloud.

You Have:

  • 10+ years of experience implementing enterprise IT systems, applications, and infrastructure

  • 8+ years of experience architecting and implementing highly available, scalable, and resilient enterprise cloud environments

  • 8+ years of experience leading architecture, platform engineering, and development teams on enterprise cloud engagements in AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platforms

  • Ability to apply structured evaluation and prototyping techniques to industry trends and emerging technologies to develop a cloud platform roadmap

  • Ability to collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to develop and implement cloud strategies

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination based on client requirements

  • HS diploma or GED

Nice If You Have:

  • Experience leading DevSecOps teams and implementing automation tools and processes

  • Experience providing technical guidance to architects and engineers

  • Knowledge of security and compliance requirements for cloud-based solutions, network architecture, and security principles

  • Knowledge of Platform Engineering and DevSecOps practices and tools, including Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, and Git

  • Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect, AWS Solution Architect Professional, or Google Cloud Architect Certification

  • Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Certification

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $112,800.00 to $257,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
