DevOps Engineer

The Opportunity:

Everyone is trying to “harness the cloud,” but not everyone knows how. As a DevOps engineer, you’re eager to develop, manage, and secure a container platform that meets your client’s needs and takes advantage of cloud capabilities. We need you to develop container management software to solve some of our clients’ toughest challenges. 
 
As a senior platform DevOps Engineer at Booz Allen, you can use your technical skills to effect mission-forward change. On our team, you’ll hone your skills using the latest cloud technologies as you look for ways to improve your client’s environment with current container software to ensure seamless orchestration. Using your DevOps platform experience, you’ll support your team as you inform strategy and design while ensuring standards are met throughout the containerization process.

You’ll recommend resources that will help your client manage and securely adopt containers. Additionally, you’ll continue to strengthen your DevOps skills while supporting the development of critical cloud platforms.

You Have:

  • 4+ years of experience with container orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes

  • 4+ years of experience with containerization technologies such as Docker, Podman, or Containerd

  • 4+ years of experience managing software deployments through CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitLab CI, Jenkins, or ArgoCD

  • 3+ years of experience with AWS and its associated services and tools 

  • 3+ years of experience with Linux administration, troubleshooting, and scripting, including Bash or Python

  • 3+ years of experience working with system monitoring and logging tools

  • Knowledge of networking, system security, and enclave boundary controls

  • TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph

  • Bachelor’s degree

Nice If You Have:

  • 5+ years of experience deploying, configuring, and maintaining enterprise software applications, including in secure, air-gapped, or disconnected environments

  • Experience supporting classified systems for the Department of Defense or the Intelligence Community

  • Experience with configuration management and infrastructure-as-code

  • Experience troubleshooting containerized applications in disconnected environments

  • Experience with key management, PKI, and certificate-based authentication for secure systems

  • Experience with cross-domain solutions and data transfer guard technologies

  • Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Possession of excellent interpersonal, analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills

Clearance: 
Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; TS/SCI clearance with polygraph is required.

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $77,600.00 to $176,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
