Senior Application Operations Engineer (Summit) leads the Summit support team from Sofia with technical leadership of the Summit operation and direct-report line management. You will coordinate Summit support activities globally, optimize resources to increase efficiency, and drive collaboration across IT teams involved in delivering Summit to internal customers, including stakeholder management and escalation. The role includes incident, problem, change, release, and vendor management, ensuring production stability, security and compliance, while mentoring and developing staff. You will also focus on capacity planning, documentation, and automation of repetitive operational tasks to improve service delivery.

Your tasks

Line management of direct reports in Sofia

· Deputy Technical Product Manager - technical leadership of Summit support

· Coordinate Summit support activities globally and develop best practices for a successful support team

· Optimal use of resources to increase efficiency of service

· Ensure collaboration between different IT teams involved in provision of Summit to the internal customers

· Stakeholder management (customers, infrastructure providers, vendors, etc), incl. communication with senior management and escalation point for customers

· Employee skill development, mentorship and succession planning

· Ensure a cost effective and efficient support operation, including initiatives to improve the service

· Supporting business users in resolving queries about the system, raising and managing issues as appropriate;

· Collaborating with different IT teams involved in provision of Summit to the internal customers;

· Stakeholder handling & communicating (customers, infrastructure providers, vendors, etc) incl. communicating with senior management;

· Incident management;

· Problem management tasks of Application Operations;

· Pro-active problem solving / root cause analyzing;

· Change management tasks of Application Operations;

· Release management tasks of Application Operations (incl. post release testing);

· Vendor management;

· Keeping up-to-date documentation for procedures, solutions and general KT’s;

· Back-up and recovery management;

· Safeguarding the stability of the application;

· Ensuring compliance of the production environment and supporting processes to the rules & regulations of the bank;

· Business analysis tasks;

· Assisting in capacity planning and scaling of infrastructure as needed;

· Innovation to optimise and improve efficiency of support and applications and automation of repetitive operational tasks.

Your profile

Leadership mentality

· Proficient in complex application architecture and infrastructure and underlying technologies, e.g.:

· Databases (SQL);

· Operating Systems (Linux);

· Shell scripting;

· Job schedulers (UC4);

· Network technologies, market data flows and connectivity technologies;

· Experience working with monitoring tools like Grafana, Dynatrace, and/or Tivoli;

· Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python, SQL) and automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform);

· Understanding of CI/CD tools and practices (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab);

· Knowledge of containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes);

· Related risk management, reporting and settlement processes;

· Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g. Azure, Google Cloud) is a plus.

· Proficient in Service Management Processes (ITIL). Service Management processes and standards form the basis of the IT support activities.

· Proficient in IT Security. Due to the high damage potential, adhering to IT security requirements is of utmost importance.

· Proficient in Business Continuity Requirements.
